Looking for where to watch fireworks in AZ- touted as “the coolest independence Festival in Arizona,” Mesa hosts the Arizona Celebration of Freedom each year. The celebration features a huge fireworks show, and the best part is that admission to the event is free! Hometown 4th of July at Schnepf Farms ($20 per carload)
Schnepf Farms has been hosting 4th of July fireworks shows since the early 1960s. This year’s event starts at 4 pm and will feature a DJ on the main stage along with contests and prizes every hour along with carnival-style food trucks and a Fun Zone complete with a rock wall, slip and slide, and more! If you’re looking for where to watch fireworks near Mesa, The Firework Extravaganza starts at 8:45 pm and admission is $25 and must be purchased ahead of time.
4th of Zooly ($45/ adult and $35/ child under 12) – Canceled
If you’re willing to travel as far as Phoenix, another great July 4th option is the 4th of Zooly at the Phoenix Zoo. This awesome event will take place from 7-10pm and while admission is pricier than some of the other events, it comes with a full catered BBQ dinner from Andrew’s BBQ. There will also be music and entertainment, special animal encounters, free carousel rides to Stingray Bay, and a bounce house and slide for the kiddos before the main event of fireworks at 9 pm. Kids 2 years old and younger get in for free.
Tempe Town Lake Festival ($7 for adults, free for kids 12 and under) – Canceled
Just a short drive from Mesa in the town of Tempe you can attend one of the best fireworks displays in the Phoenix area. The Town Lake Festival is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Tempe and will be held at the South Bank of Tempe Town Lake from 5 to 11 pm. Festivities will include live entertainment and plenty of activities for the kids, from rock climbing to carnival rides to face painting and a splash zone, as well as food vendors all day. July 4th Fireworks Spectacular in Chandler (Free admission, $5 parking fee)
Another nearby town, Chandler, Arizona will be hosting their annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular in Tumbleweed Park. The event will take place from 7pm to 9:30 pm with the firework show kicking off at 9 o’clock sharp. This event is a great option if you’re looking for a more low-key way to spend your 4th of July. Although admission is free, there is a $5 parking fee per vehicle, so carpooling is a great idea for multiple families.
